YUM!! Up until recently, I was a junk food junkie…and now I have turned health food obsessed due to the incredibly tasty food at Life Alive Urban Oasis & Organic Cafe! I love the Adventurer bowl which has this incredible sauce – Sesame Ginger Nama – and it completely makes me forget I am eating a green leafy vegetable bowl with kale, quinoa, legumes, corn, beets, almonds and more. Then I usually top it off with avocado. It totally satisfies that salty, sweet craving with just a mouthful of bursting fresh flavors and did I forget to mention its healthy?? Instead of counting sheep to sleep, I list off all the ways Life Alive sauce, makes me happy :-)
Don’t get me wrong – I have done a few juice diets ad I like sushi and eat salads on occasion, and I’ve also rarely turned down the opportunity for french fries, crackers and cookies or the best cheeseburger from In ‘n Out!! (For those of you who’ve never visited the west coast, yes, you really are missing out).
I got sidetracked there for a second. Not only is the food great, the vibe is very chill and eclectic. I can feel the energy level elevated inside the venue of the mindfulness of the clientele and appreciation they have to treat their bodies well. So, I am just starting this concept of cooking – my kitchen won’t know what happened to it! I literally eat out ALOT or I cook soup…from a can – until now. I am ready to start trying out some fun recipes and I am completely clueless on how to steam veggies. Suggestions welcome in the comments below.
And to help me get a kickstart, I found a fellow Life Alive-er, Sarah, who has re-created one of the amazing sauces, Ginger Nama, from Life Alive. I may attempt this recipe at home soon. Wish me luck!
